The Comfy Skirt!

This is how the story will go when you buy this practical skirt: you will wear the Comfy Skirt for 5 days in a row. Your family and co-workers will begin to tease you. You will find yourself on this website again, buying the same skirt in another color. Please know that you are not alone! These skirts are just that good!

The Comfy Skirt is a perfect transition skirt, watch it conquer the bike ride home and move straight to commandeering the dance floor. Ditch the purse and stow your credit card and ID in the hidden pocket at the center front. That pocket is part of what makes the Comfy Skirt the perfect travel skirt! The hidden pocket fits a passport and its 4-way stretch allows for cozy comfortable plane and train travel. The durable hemp fabric makes this skirt last for years. Read the reviews below!

If you're looking for something a little more lightweight, and without a pocket, the Basic Skirt offers the same cut in a thinner organic cotton material. If you'd like to show a little more or less leg, the Comfy Skirt is also available in Mini, Micro Mini, and Long styles!

The BEST skirt ever!

I own FIVE, yes 5 of these skirts. Two knee length and three above the knee. I’ve worn them all for years since buying them at the Ballard Farmers Market in Seattle. The long ones were my go to for work especially during cold weather. They are so comfy and warm. I also use them for travel. The shorter ones I now wear in Austin when it’s warm out. I don’t like to wear shorts and live in these skirts. I am so tempted to buy another one (I probably will :)) but these skirts have lasted and are in great shape! I think I’ve had most of them for 8-10+ years. You won’t be disappointed.

So kicky and versatile!

This little a-line skirt is a gem! I ordered the teal on a lark and am so glad I did: the rich hue is fun for autumn, and a splash of color for my wardrobe—for work and play. I ordered a M, which is plenty spacious (but feels good) for my 5’5” 130 build. Years ago, I sported this skirt all the time, and I’m grateful to wear the same line in a kicky new color. Beautiful workmanship and another fun splash of color hidden in the inside pocket. Great product from a woman-owned business!

Love this material

This skirt fabric is marvelous! It's my first order from Texture, and it lives up to its name. I received the teal Comfy Skirt last week, one day before going to a conference at which I wore it twice. Have worn it twice since getting home, too. I'm an XL, and the sizing is perfect. I do wish it had side pockets; when I put my phone in the front pocket, it's a rectangle on my belly. The pocket worked much better for a bag check ticket, where it was at my fingertips when I needed it. The lack of side pockets doesn't detract enough to lower my 5-star rating.
I've been transitioning to more sustainably produced clothing for a few years now, and I try to make my purchases with some deliberation. When I found this company through Google search, I was excited about the materials, the process, the products, and the colors. (And it arrived with a lovely handwritten note asking where I heard about Texture, so that's answered!) I set aside the website but kept thinking about it and then came back before the August shipping date so I could grab it. One down, many to go!

Thanks for posting such a thoughtful review, Pamela! I'm glad you are enjoying your new skirt. You look so happy in the photo!

Best skirt ever!

I capitulated and bought this skirt as my other one (basic skirt in "dirty little secret") is constantly in the wash. Undoubtedly this one will enjoy as much wear as the other one gets! A+++++++

Where has this been all my life?

I truly never feel compelled to write reviews but oh my god. I’ve been thinking about buying this for a long time as I needed a staple go-to comfy skirt, and while it’s admittedly a little out of my budget I was enamored with all of the glowing reviews so I saved my pennies and wow I’m so glad I found this company. The waistband is perfectly wide, the material is obviously high quality with the right amount of stretch, the length is perfect, the little pouch?? Perfect. Absolutely worth every penny—how soon is too soon to buy another?!

Perfect skirt. I had one that went threadbare from wearing it for over a decade through my three pregnancies. It was dark charcoal gray, and I wish you still had that color, but the black one I just bought is great too!

Best skirt ever

I wear these skirts ( I have five?) every day in the summer. I keep a bandaid in the pocket and stash wallet, phone, shopping list in there too. I’m sad when winter comes and I put them away. Pants aren’t as much fun. Thank you texture for helping me live a skirted life!

Such a great skirt!

I really love this skirt. I ordered it not really knowing exactly what to expect. What I received is a well made, super flattering, comfortable skirt that I wear all the time. I have now ordered another one. They may be a bit more expensive than other, similar, skirts you can find online, but I think it is truly worth it. I would rather have a few such skirts that are well made, launder beautifully, and highly wearable than lots of assembly line skirts that wear out or fit strangely. I plan on ordering several more as I wear the two I have pretty much every week - with tights in the winter and now bare legged. They just make me feel great.

I'm so glad you're happy with your purchase, Trish! The best way to take care of your new skirt is to wash it in cold water and hang it to dry. There is a touch of lycra in the fabric, and putting it in the dryer will make it stretch out eventually.

Retiring my comfy skirt after 16 good years!

I finally had to say goodbye to my black knee-length comfy skirt that I bought at a sustainability festival in Colorado in 2007. I'd say it had a good life. I re-dyed it six months ago and got a bit more life out of it, but alas, the skirt is pretty threadbare (and often I'm commando underneath, which probably isn't recommended with how thin it's become!). I'm excited to get my new skirt soon! I'm happy you all are still making wonderful clothing all these years later! That's remarkable for a small business.

Comfy and cute!

I really like this skirt! Fits perfectly and the color is excellent. The front pocket is a bonus!
